2020-2021 Pandemic Eligibility Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) Survey

Date:  April 8, 2021
Subject: 2020-2021 Pandemic Eligibility Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) Survey
Category: COVID-19 Student Pandemic Benefits
Next Steps:  TSDS PEIMS Coordinators to submit required data by April 23, 2021

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is participating in a joint effort with the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) in providing benefits to public school children who are eligible for free and reduced-price meals as a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency.

In order to determine eligibility, information regarding campus closure to on-campus learning and the number of days students were learning virtually each month is needed. A survey was emailed to the superintendent on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. The survey was only sent to local education agencies (LEAs) that have campuses approved for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Results of this survey are needed so that benefits can be issued, therefore, TEA is requesting the survey to be completed and submitted by the PEIMS Coordinator no later than Friday, April 23, 2021.

Eligibility requirements and additional information are provided within the survey.

It is very important that each LEA complete the survey by April 23, 2021. Students will not receive benefits without the data from the survey.
