Texas College and Career Readiness School Models (CCRSM)

CCRSM Hero

Preparing Texas Students for a Successful Future

The Texas College and Career Readiness School Models (CCRSM) are open enrollment programs that blend high school and college coursework to help historically underserved and at-risk students develop technical skills, earn college credentials and degrees, and pursue in-demand career paths.

CCRSM Network

The statewide CCRSM network is comprised of over 540 campuses implementing or planning to implement one or more of the following CCRSM programs: Early College High Schools (ECHS), Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (T-STEM), and Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-TECH).

For more information regarding the network, see recent CCRSM presentations from the 2019 Annual Leadership Summit.

To launch a CCRSM program (ECHS, P-TECH, T-STEM), a district must submit a Planning Year Application to be eligible to open a new CCRSM program, become a member of the TEA's official planning year cohort, and begin serving students the following academic year.

T-STEM Designation Process

Through the CCRSM network TEA is creating synergies to drive continuous improvement by consolidating these individual models under one umbrella of support. This integrated approach to technical assistance creates efficiencies, spurs cross-model learning, and provides customized support to schools and districts as they implement these models to increase the college and career readiness of their students.

Texas Education Agency (TEA) seeks stakeholders feedback to revise the current 2020 Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) and Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (T-STEM) Blueprints.

Texas Education Agency (TEA) seeks stakeholders feedback to revise the current 2020 Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) and Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (T-STEM) Blueprints.

Background:

CCRSM blueprints contain clearly defined design requirements and student outcomes goal to promote high quality implementation of the model. The expansion and evolution of CCRSM offers an opportunity to provide customized support to schools and districts to increase the college and career readiness of their students, create academic and career pathways for students, and spur cross-model learning throughout Texas.

In the spring of 2021, TEA will launch a series of engagement opportunities for both the P-TECH Blueprint and the T-STEM Blueprint which will enable campus and district leaders implementing these programs to engage in a comprehensive revision process to improve the model design. New blueprints will be operationalized in 2022-2023.

Stakeholder Engagement:

In the spring of 2021, TEA launched a series of engagement opportunities for both the P-TECH Blueprint and the T-STEM Blueprint which enabled campus and district leaders implementing these programs to engage in a comprehensive revision process to improve the model design. TEA collected feedback for each model through landscape surveys and stakeholder focus groups from February 2021 through June 2021. New blueprints will be operationalized in 2022-2023.

Public Comment: A public comment period will be available for all stakeholders to review the revised P-TECH and T-STEM Blueprints during February and March 2022. More information be provided through the CCRSM network.
