Districts are invited to apply for College and Career Readiness School Models (CCRSM) planning year designation for the 2020-2021 academic year. District and campus administrators are encouraged to apply on behalf of their campus if they are considering opening a College and Career Readiness School Model in their district, joining the greater CCRSM Network and receiving specialized technical assistance year-round.

College and Career Readiness School Models
The Texas CCRSM Network is comprised of Early College High Schools (ECHS), Texas Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (T-STEM) Academies, Industry Cluster Innovative Academies (ICIA), and Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-TECH). These initiatives, led by the Texas Education Agency (TEA), blend high school and college coursework to help historically underserved and at-risk students develop technical skills, earn dual college credit, and pursue in-demand career paths to meet regional and local workforce needs.

ECHS, P-TECH/ICIA, and T-STEM Planning Year Application Timeline

  • CCRSM Planning Year Application Available
    • October – December 2019
    • Campuses interested in opening a CCRSM campus apply to be a planning year designee. 
  • CCRSM Planning Year 
    • February 2020 – August 2020
    • Planning year designees work with our technical assistance provider to prepare for 2021-2022 school year implementation.

Districts seeking designation for a new ECHS, P-TECH/ICIA, or T-STEM must apply during the 2019-2020 school year to become part of the 2020-2021 planning year cohort.  

The planning year application for NEW campuses interested in becoming an ECHS, P-TECH/ICIA, or         T-STEM Academy will open on Monday, October 14, 2019

Applications for the planning year must be submitted to TEA through the online application on or before 5:00 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST), Friday, November 22, 2019. Applicants will be notified in Spring 2020 if they have been accepted into the planning year process. 

Application Technical Assistance
A technical assistance webinar will be held to provide information regarding the planning year application. Participation in the technical assistance webinar is not required; however, attendance is strongly encouraged. The webinar will provide potential applicants with information about how to access and navigate the online, web-based application system.

2019-2020 CCRSM Designees (ECHS, P-TECH/ICIA, or T-STEM)
Campuses CURRENTLY operating a designated campus or school for the 2019-2020 school year will have the opportunity to submit a renewal designation application as either an ECHS, P-TECH/ICIA or T-STEM for the 2020-2021 school year in November 2020
