The Teacher Leadership Grant (District Practices Fellowship) for school year 2022-23 is now available on the TEA Grants Opportunity page. This grant provides local educational agencies (LEAs) with the opportunity to plan and implement a teacher fellowship focused on areas of need.
Description of Program: Participating LEAs, working with an approved partner, will develop and deliver teacher leadership training specific to the development and implementation of district practices and programs related to areas of LEA need. The teacher fellowship must focus on LEA-identified needs in at least one of four areas: human capital systems; support for student readiness to learn; high-quality instructional materials; and student access to high-quality instruction. Through this grant, teacher fellows will gather stakeholder input on the area(s) of focus, develop recommendations, and present those to senior LEA leadership, ultimately strengthening local programs and practices and leading to improved student outcomes.
Funding: It is anticipated that approximately 10 grants will be awarded, ranging in amounts from $30,000 to $90,000. Awarded applicants may spend funds on approved partnerships and additional teacher compensation, as outlined in the Program Guidelines.
