Final Outreach Materials to Promote P-EBT Program

Category:

Action Needed

Next Steps:

1) Share with appropriate staff; 2) Collaborate with district and campus personnel to promote P-EBT to eligible families

The Texas Education Agency (TEA), Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), and Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) request that schools do a second P-EBT communication push to eligible families. P-EBT provides a one-time benefit of up to $285 per eligible child that families can use to purchase food. Eligible families that have children 5-18 years old and received SNAP benefits for March have already received P-EBT benefits. All other eligible families must apply to receive P-EBT benefits.

Thousands of families across Texas have applied for the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program. However, there are still many more students that are eligible for this program. On average, only 70% of eligible families in Texas have applied for P-EBT. The deadline to apply for P-EBT is Tuesday, June 30. Please continue to promote P-EBT to eligible families and encourage them to submit an application using the resources linked at the end of this correspondence.

Use the following communication tools to inform eligible families about P-EBT:

June Letter to Families with Application Link (English and Spanish)

  • Email or mail the June letter to eligible families. The June letter contains the application link and a call center number that families can use to receive assistance in applying for PEBT. Families that need help filling out the P-EBT application can call the P-EBT call center at 833-613-6220 Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Robocall and Robotext Script (English and Spanish)

  • Use the Robocall and Robotext scripts to communicate with families via phone or text message.

Updated Social Media Posts (English and Spanish)

  • Work with your school’s communication team to share social media posts on your school’s social media pages.

Thank you for your support with the P-EBT program. We appreciate all the work you do to make sure Texas families have access to food during this difficult time.
