School Breakfast Week 2020

Schools across Texas will celebrate School Breakfast Week March 2-6, 2020. The annual event recognizes the dedication and commitment shown by the Texas schools serving more than 1.8 million breakfasts each school day. These meals help ensure more children get to school on time and pay attention throughout the school day. TEA encourages you to recognize your school nutrition teams’ efforts during School Breakfast Week and remind students that classroom success starts with a healthy breakfast. 

The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) administers the School Breakfast Program in Texas and supports School Breakfast Week celebrations. Each year, TDA provides a range of School Breakfast Week resources including posters, morning announcements, menus and more. This year’s theme is “Save the Day with a Healthy Breakfast.” When you see these resources being utilized in your schools, please use them to reinforce important messages about good nutrition and healthy meals.
